BMW and Brilliance cooperated to upgrade and gradually build Shenyang into a production base for global products.
Recently, Chairman of the BMW Group Kruger and Chairman of the Brilliance Group, Yu Yumin, signed a framework agreement witnessed by the Chinese and German prime ministers to continue to promote the long-term development of the joint venture BMW Brilliance in China. By 2019, BMW Brilliance's vehicle production capacity will reach 520,000 units; next, investment in Shenyang will continue to increase, driving BMW Brilliance to continue to grow. The BMW iX3, the first pure electric vehicle in the BMW core product range, will be launched at BMW Brilliance in 2020 and will be sold worldwide.
Gao Le, president and CEO of BMW Group Greater China, said that the strategic framework agreement marks that BMW and Brilliance will continue to deepen cooperation. BMW Brilliance is not only included in the global strategic layout of the BMW Group, but will also play a more important role in advancing the ACES strategy, especially the new energy vehicle strategy. At present, BMW Brilliance has two world-class vehicle factories and a powertrain factory, which is the world's largest production base of the BMW Group.
